The morning began with a Golden Years performance in the Baptist Church on Norman Road and once again the local seniors enjoyed the opportunity to get out and have a good time listening to the music and singing along.

"It's just absolutely wonderful for the seniors in the community to A; know how much talent there is in our local community and B; to be able to come out and have a good time at event's exactly like this one," said Golden Years Coordinator Glenys Kirkwood

Rockhampton State High School hosted student workshops where Don Rader and the lecturers and students from CQCM gave invaluable advice.

The students were divided into two groups and these rehearsed different tunes, which they performed that evening with the conservatorium students.

The evening was the Little Big Band Competition, also at Rockhampton State High School. With only two bands, Rockhampton High and the Grammar School, the element of competition was replaced by a co-operative night of entertainment, which saw school students performing with conservatorium students and ex- students performing with the high school band.

As this was the last performance of the ABC sponsored 'Raders of the Lost Art' tour, the CQCM big band gave one more resounding performance with Don Rader.
